Lets get right into it, by creating a new flash document. We will select create new flash file action script 3 from the start page.
If you do not see this start page, you can click file – new. Before we do anything else, we will save the document. We will select file – save – and I will save this in my chapter 3 folder, and call it, videoplayer.fla. Hit enter. And now we will begin by importing a video. We initiate this process exactly as we would have been in flash 8, by selecting file – import – import video. And now we see the first screen of the video import wizard. Its identical to the first screen, in the same wizard in flash 8. Its prompting us the find where the video file is. I will click choose and navigate to via from video library, to Kennedy.avi.
I will select open to select that file. I could also have selected an already encoded FLV. I click continue. Now Flash is asking us how we plant to deliver this video. This screen is also largely unchanged from version 8. Since we are not delivering our video from a flash media server or flash video streaming service.
